Manchester Giants Juniors Welcome Rob Park to New Role

The Manchester Giants Juniors have taken another step forward in their mission to build one of the UK’s leading basketball programmes by welcoming experienced coach Rob Park into the new role of Performance Manager.

The role has been created to provide greater consistency across our junior programme, helping to oversee day-to-day operations, support coaches, and ensure the club’s development-first approach continues to thrive. Rob will work closely with Performance Director Jordi Pastor to mentor coaches, grow our work and drive performance across all teams and age groups.

“We’re introducing the role of Performance Manager to help strengthen the delivery and consistency of our junior programme," remarks Jordi Pastor. "Rob was our first choice for the role, he’s an outstanding coach with a real passion for the game, for the Giants and for development of both players and coaches alike.”

Rob Park brings a strong coaching track record to the role. Between 2017 and 2024 he played a key role in growing Trafford Basketball Club into a thriving organisation with over 15 competitive teams (including the biggest girls’ programme in the North West). He’s also been Head Coach for the regional Aspire programmes while coaching the Giants U16 Prem team.

“The Manchester Giants Juniors have taken huge strides over the last five years," reflects Coach Rob as he steps into the role. "Not just in terms of results, but by developing an elite coaching team and expanding the programme to include younger age groups and now an U12 girls’ team. I’m looking forward to supporting Coach Jordi and the wider coaching team as we implement our player curriculum to enhance performance and take the Giants to the next level.”
