Congratulations to U18 Captain Jayden Èvora Gomes on signing his first professional contract in Portugal’s highest tier (Liga Portuguesa de Basquetebol).
From picking up competitive basketball with the Manchester Giants in 2021 to putting on the Portugal jersey and now taking the next step with Sporting CP, the journey hasn’t always been easy. Jayden has been doubted and had to earn every opportunity that came his way.
Just a few weeks ago, he received his first call up to represent Portugal and now at just 18 years old he’s joining one of the biggest clubs in Portugal.
But what makes everyone at Giants proudest isn’t just the talent. It’s the person and leader he has become. His work ethic and character are something we have rarely seen, and watching him grow into the player and person he is today has been incredibly special.
Everyone at the club couldn’t be prouder of Jayden, and we know this is only the beginning.
